Before they folded I saw pics in the USA Today of their new jersey with a artic wolf on the front. That might be it. Or I have seen some variations of the nords jersey on ebay.

Kind of a cool jersey to have. On another note - anyone remember the Sens prototype jerseys from the building year when they announced their arrival back to the NHL with the parliament buildings on them? Where would a fella find one of those bad boys?

I remember a few years back, Boudy's Sportswear out of Montreal had dozens of CCM test jerseys for auction on eBay, mostly from the late '80s to the mid '90s.
Nearly all the jerseys had notes written right on them in marker from the team executives: "make this line green," "too thick," things like that. Even with the writing on them, they had some pretty cool shirts; often they were quite different than the final design.
Does anyone here own one of those? I'm kinda kicking myself for not picking one (or more) up.

Here's a picture of the jersey he's referring to plus another prototype that was on ebay a few months back.

That bottom #91, I can live with...I thought he was talking about the one that was just on Ebay:

Sorry for the confusion, I think Ghost Rider was referring to the jersey in the ebay auction but grumpysmurf was referring to the "wolf jersey" that I pictured.

Thank you Wildman.
I should have made it clear, I was referring to the one on E-Bay.
Speaking of clear, I am not much clearer on this other than Northlands post, thank you.
So a test jersey is a prototype ? Designed by the manufacturer, but necessarily by the Team.

Northlands, I ended up with a St Hyacinthe Laser, and a Moncton Alpines jersey from that sale. Only the Laser had a team execs sig on it.

Try reading the initial post.

GR, they are prototypes. Teams would send "sketches" of jersey ideas to CCM, who would approximate those into actual jerseys, which they would send back for the team execs to look at. Then, the "noted" jersey would go back to the factory, and so on until a final design was OK'd.
The rejected jerseys likely go to storage, and eventually they pop up on eBay or elsewhere. Doug Reisinger has an LA Kings Robitaille prototype (circa 1988) on his site:

Thank you all for the clarification.
I simply wanted to know what the jersey on E-bay was all about. I should have made that clear from the get go.
Regards

I purchased two of these jerseys (I collect Florida Panthers). I purchased one road and one home, they are near identical to those presented at the uniform unveiling (which was then changed again prior to them taking to the ice).
The neat part about the jerseys are that they are signed by Team President Bill Torrey and dated (as if to approve them with CCM) and they are dated prior to the uniform unveiling.
I think I paid under $100 a piece each for them, and they certainly are neat additions to my collection.

Any pictures of prototypes you all might have ("what might have been") would be fun to see (hint hint).

Anyone have any pics of prototypes the Leafs have done over the years?
